US Customer Policies - Timeline of Changes
Due to the many changes implemented by the Trump Administration as well as Canada Post during the month of August and September, our policies have had to change several times lately.
This policy page shares the terms applied to orders placed between certain past dates.
If you previously placed an order with us, note that the policy that applied to your order at the time you placed it was ALWAYS clearly posted and advertised on our site. None of these policies have been retroactively changed.
We have done our best to keep customers clearly notified throughout this period of rapid change and adjustments for small businesses in Canada.

POLICY FROM OCTOBER 1-10, 2025:
While Canada Post is on strike, US orders will be sent via UPS or DHL Express, depending on the option selected at checkout.
During this time, US customers are responsible for customs duties/taxes that apply to their orders. If you decline to pay duties/taxes when notified by the courier before delivery, Free Bleed® is not responsible for replacing or refunding your order.

POLICY FROM SEPTEMBER 5-30, 2025:
If you select the Standard Shipping option at checkout (which is our cheapest option or FREE for orders over $200), Free Bleed® will cover the duties/taxes in advance on your shipment. This means you should NOT expect to receive any notifications or invoices from customs after you make your purchase - your order should deliver smoothly and with no unexpected fees! This is our courtesy gift to you 🎉
If you select an Express Shipping option (DHL Express), Free Bleed® does NOT cover the duties/taxes for your shipment, because DHL charges brokerage fees in addition to duties and taxes at the time your shipment clears US customs. This means you SHOULD expect to receive phone/email notifications from DHL at the time your parcel clears the border, requesting that you remit payment for your parcel to be delivered.
As our Shipping Policy (found on every product page) says, If the customer refuses to pay customs fees and they do not receive their parcel, Free Bleed® is not responsible for reimbursing the order or replacing the parcel. So if you do select an Express Shipping option, please be prepared to pay the necessary duties/taxes and brokerage fees.
